Ask Congress To Support Child Nutrition Programs
Every five years, lawmakers work together to improve and reauthorize government-funded Child Nutrition Programs. These programs include the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs, the Commodity and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the Summer Food Service Program, and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 will soon expire, and Congress is set to begin debating funding levels for these important programs.
Now is a critical time for you to share your voice with your Member of Congress. You can underscore the importance of addressing the nationwide problem of childhood hunger—and the role our federal government must play in funding programs to help feed our at-risk children.
