What does the Hunger Action Center do?
The Hunger Action Center’s goal is to raise awareness about the reality of hunger in America and advocate for legislation that addresses the many factors that contribute to food insecurity.
We’re creating an open dialog with legislators, the media, and the public about the challenges that more than 35 million hungry Americans face, and how we can make a difference.
Our advocates:
- Actively communicate with their legislators and the media to ensure that the voices of the hungry in America are heard.
- Connect with each other to share strategy and support.
- Promote advocacy as a key component in the fight against hunger.
- Donate time and/or financial support to their communities.

We fight for funding and positive programmatic changes for a variety of critical anti-hunger programs, including the following:
Why did you change your name to Feeding America?
We made the decision to proceed with a new name and brand because extensive research indicated changing our name to Feeding America would help us better communicate our goals and mission to the people we’re trying to reach. As Feeding America, we’re instantly able to convey our dedication to solving the problem of hunger in America, as well as our ability to provide the mental and emotional fuel that Americans need to thrive.
